मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
वैकल्योच्चारणात्तस्य ब्राह्मणस्य महामतेः ।
ततः स राजातिभृशं विषण्णः समजायत ॥२४॥

24. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
vaikalyoccāraṇāttasya brāhmaṇasya mahāmateḥ .
tataḥ sa rājātibhṛśaṃ viṣaṇṇaḥ samajāyata.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Due to the faulty pronunciation of that great-minded Brahmin, the king then became exceedingly dejected.
