राक्षस उवाच ।
न वयं मानुषाहारा अन्ये ते नृप राक्षसाः ।
सुकृतस्य फलं यत्तु तदश्नीमो वयं नृप ॥१६॥

16. rākṣasa uvāca .
na vayaṃ mānuṣāhārā anye te nṛpa rākṣasāḥ .
sukṛtasya phalaṃ yattu tadaśnīmo vayaṃ nṛpa.
na vayaṃ mānuṣāhārā anye te nṛpa rākṣasāḥ .
sukṛtasya phalaṃ yattu tadaśnīmo vayaṃ nṛpa.

The rākṣasa said: "We are not eaters of humans; those other rākṣasas, O king, are the ones who consume them. We, O king, partake of the fruit of good deeds."
