मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-70, verse-16

राक्षस उवाच ।
न वयं मानुषाहारा अन्ये ते नृप राक्षसाः ।
सुकृतस्य फलं यत्तु तदश्नीमो वयं नृप ॥१६॥
16. rākṣasa uvāca .
na vayaṃ mānuṣāhārā anye te nṛpa rākṣasāḥ .
sukṛtasya phalaṃ yattu tadaśnīmo vayaṃ nṛpa.
16. rākṣasa uvāca na vayam mānuṣa-āhārāḥ anye te nṛpa
rākṣasāḥ sukṛtasya phalam yat tu tat aśnīmaḥ vayam nṛpa
16. The rākṣasa said: "We are not eaters of humans; those other rākṣasas, O king, are the ones who consume them. We, O king, partake of the fruit of good deeds."
