मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-70, verse-17

स्वभावञ्च मनुष्याणां योषिताञ्च विमानिताः ।
मानिताश्च समश्नीमो न वयं जन्तुखादकाः ॥१७॥
17. svabhāvañca manuṣyāṇāṃ yoṣitāñca vimānitāḥ .
mānitāśca samaśnīmo na vayaṃ jantukhādakāḥ.
17. svabhāvam ca manuṣyāṇām yoṣitām ca vimānitāḥ
mānitāḥ ca samaśnīmaḥ na vayam jantu-khādakāḥ
17. And the intrinsic nature (svabhāva) of humans and women, when they are dishonored, that we consume. But when they are honored, we partake of their virtues. We are not consumers of mere living beings.
