ततोऽस्माभिरिदन्तस्य वैकल्यमुपपादितम् ।
पत्न्या विना पुमानिज्याकर्मयोग्यो न जायते ॥२३॥

Therefore, we caused this defect for him, because without a wife, a man is not eligible for performing ritual (yajña) actions.
