मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-70, verse-29

राजोवाच ।
स्वभावं वयमश्नीमस्त्वयोक्तं यन्निशाचर ।
तदर्थिनो वयं येन कार्येण शृणु तन्मम ॥२९॥
29. rājovāca .
svabhāvaṃ vayamaśnīmastvayoktaṃ yanniśācara .
tadarthino vayaṃ yena kāryeṇa śṛṇu tanmama.
29. rājā uvāca svabhāvam vayam aśnīmaḥ tvayā uktam yat
niśācara tat arthinaḥ vayam yena kāryeṇa śṛṇu tat mama
29. The King said: 'O night-wanderer, we understand the intrinsic nature (svabhāva) that you have described. Now, listen to me concerning the task for which we are in need.'
