मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
अथारुरोह स्वरथं प्रणिपत्य महामुनिम् ।
तेनाख्यातं वनन्तच्च प्रययावुत्पलावतम् ॥१॥

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then, having prostrated before the great sage, he mounted his own chariot and proceeded to that forest named Utpalāvata, which had been described by the sage.
