इतरे च यथावर्णाः स्वे स्वे कर्मण्यतन्द्रिताः ।
तदुपात्तधनाश्चक्रुरिष्टापूर्त्तादिकाः क्रियाः ॥८॥

And others, according to their social classes (varṇas), diligently performed their respective duties (karma). Having acquired wealth from him, they carried out various acts of piety, such as ritual sacrifices and charitable works.
