मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-126, verse-23

नूनं प्रमत्तो भोगेषु सक्तो वाऽविजितेन्द्रियः ।
चारान्धता यतोऽस्तीयं दुष्टादुष्टं न वेत्सि यत् ॥२३॥
23. nūnaṃ pramatto bhogeṣu sakto vā'vijitendriyaḥ .
cārāndhatā yato'stīyaṃ duṣṭāduṣṭaṃ na vetsi yat.
23. nūnaṃ pramattaḥ bhogeṣu saktaḥ vā avijitendriyaḥ
cārāndhatā yataḥ asti iyaṃ duṣṭa-aduṣṭaṃ na vetsi yat
23. Surely, you are negligent, or attached to worldly pleasures, or your senses are unconquered. This is because there is a 'blindness regarding intelligence' (cārāndhatā), due to which you do not discern between the wicked and the virtuous.
