महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-7, verse-9

यो ह्येकः पाण्डवैर्युध्येद्यो वा युध्यन्तमुत्सृजेत् ।
स पञ्चभिर्भवेद्युक्तः पातकैः सोपपातकैः ।

yudhyantam utsṛjet sa pañcabhiḥ bhavet

9. Indeed, whoever fights the Pāṇḍavas alone, or whoever abandons someone who is fighting, that person will incur five grave sins (pātaka) and minor sins (upapātaka). We must fight together, protecting one another.
