महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-13, verse-3

शरकण्टकितास्ते तु तावका भरतर्षभ ।
न जहुः समरे पार्थं वध्यमानाः शितैः शरैः ॥३॥
3. śarakaṇṭakitāste tu tāvakā bharatarṣabha ,
na jahuḥ samare pārthaṁ vadhyamānāḥ śitaiḥ śaraiḥ.

jahuḥ samare pārtham vadhyamānāḥ śitaiḥ śaraiḥ
3. bharatarṣabha tu te tāvakā śarakaṇṭakitāḥ (api) śitaiḥ

3. But those warriors of your side (tāvaka), O best among the Bhāratas, though bristling with arrows like thorns, did not abandon Pārtha (Arjuna) in battle, even as they were being struck by sharp arrows.
