तदुद्यतादित्यसमानवर्चसं शरन्नभोमध्यगभास्करोपमम् ।
वराङ्गमुर्व्यामपतच्चमूपतेर्दिवाकरोऽस्तादिव रक्तमण्डलः ॥२४॥

varāṅgamurvyāmapataccamūpate;rdivākaro'stādiva raktamaṇḍalaḥ.

24. That glorious head of the commander (Karna), brilliant like the rising sun and resembling the sun positioned in the middle of an autumn sky, fell to the earth, just as the sun, with its reddish disc, descends from the setting point.
