iti ūcivān sa dhanaṃjayaḥ tam karṇavadhāya ghoram bāṇam mumoca,

21.
Having spoken thus, Dhanaṃjaya (Arjuna) released that terrible arrow for the slaying of Karṇa. It was dreadful, blazing, and unbearable, like an Atharvāṅgiras Kṛtyā (a malevolent magic spell), which even Death (mṛtyu) itself could not withstand in battle.
