महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-89, verse-21

न च तत्कारणं विद्मो यस्मिन्नो मधुसूदन ।
पूजां कृतां प्रीयमाणैर्नामंस्थाः पुरुषोत्तम ॥२१॥
21. na ca tatkāraṇaṁ vidmo yasminno madhusūdana ,
pūjāṁ kṛtāṁ prīyamāṇairnāmaṁsthāḥ puruṣottama.
21. na ca tat kāraṇam vidmaḥ yasmin naḥ madhusūdana
pūjām kṛtām prīyamāṇaiḥ na amaṃsthāḥ puruṣottama
21. And we do not know the reason, O Madhusūdana (Kṛṣṇa), for which you, O Puruṣottama (Kṛṣṇa), would not accept our offered honor (pūjā), even though it is rendered by us, who are pleased.
