महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-22, verse-6

त्यजन्ति मित्रेषु धनानि काले न संवासाज्जीर्यति मैत्रमेषाम् ।
यथार्हमानार्थकरा हि पार्थास्तेषां द्वेष्टा नास्त्याजमीढस्य पक्षे ॥६॥
6. tyajanti mitreṣu dhanāni kāle; na saṁvāsājjīryati maitrameṣām ,
yathārhamānārthakarā hi pārthā;steṣāṁ dveṣṭā nāstyājamīḍhasya pakṣe.
6. tyajanti mitreṣu dhanāni kāle na
saṃvāsāt jīryati maitram eṣām
yathārhamānārthakarāḥ hi pārthāḥ teṣām
dveṣṭā na asti ajāmīḍhasya pakṣe
6. They (the Pāṇḍavas) give wealth to their friends at the appropriate time, and their friendships do not diminish from prolonged association. Indeed, the Pārthas (sons of Pṛthā) are those who appropriately bestow honor and wealth. Therefore, there is no enemy of theirs among Ajāmīḍha's descendants.
