महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-22, verse-18

सहोषितश्चरितार्थो वयःस्थः शाल्वेयानामधिपो वै विराटः ।
सह पुत्रैः पाण्डवार्थे च शश्वद्युधिष्ठिरं भक्त इति श्रुतं मे ॥१८॥
18. sahoṣitaścaritārtho vayaḥsthaḥ; śālveyānāmadhipo vai virāṭaḥ ,
saha putraiḥ pāṇḍavārthe ca śaśva;dyudhiṣṭhiraṁ bhakta iti śrutaṁ me.
18. sahoṣitaḥ caritārthaḥ vayaḥsthaḥ
śālveyānām adhipaḥ vai virāṭaḥ |
saha putraiḥ pāṇḍavārthe ca śaśvat
yudhiṣṭhiram bhaktaḥ iti śrutam me
18. Indeed, I have heard that King Virata, the lord of the Salveyas, who lived together with the Pāṇḍavas and is now aged and whose purpose has been fulfilled, is constantly devoted (bhakta) to Yudhiṣṭhira along with his sons, for the Pāṇḍavas' cause.
