महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-178, verse-11

न भयान्नाप्यनुक्रोशान्न लोभान्नार्थकाम्यया ।
क्षत्रधर्ममहं जह्यामिति मे व्रतमाहितम् ॥११॥
11. na bhayānnāpyanukrośānna lobhānnārthakāmyayā ,
kṣatradharmamahaṁ jahyāmiti me vratamāhitam.
11. na bhayāt na api anukrośāt na lobhāt na arthakāmyayā
kṣatradharmam aham jahyām iti me vratam āhitam
11. aham bhayāt na,

11. Neither from fear, nor from compassion, nor from greed, nor from the desire for gain, would I abandon the intrinsic nature (dharma) of a warrior. This is the vow I have undertaken.
