महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-268, verse-38

रामस्तु शरजालानि ववर्ष जलदो यथा ।
तानि लङ्कां समासाद्य जघ्नुस्तान्रजनीचरान् ॥३८॥
38. rāmastu śarajālāni vavarṣa jalado yathā ,
tāni laṅkāṁ samāsādya jaghnustānrajanīcarān.
38. rāmaḥ tu śara-jālāni vavarṣa jaladaḥ yathā
tāni laṅkām samāsādya jaghnuḥ tān rajani-carān
38. But Rāma showered volleys of arrows, just as a cloud pours rain. These (arrows), upon reaching Laṅkā, struck down those night-rangers (demons).
