महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-268, verse-35

पेतुः शूलविभिन्नाङ्गा बहवो वानरर्षभाः ।
स्तम्भतोरणभग्नाश्च पेतुस्तत्र निशाचराः ॥३५॥
35. petuḥ śūlavibhinnāṅgā bahavo vānararṣabhāḥ ,
stambhatoraṇabhagnāśca petustatra niśācarāḥ.

35. Many mighty monkeys whose limbs were pierced by spears fell. And there, the night-wanderers (Rakshasas) also fell, crushed by pillars and archways.
