महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-38, verse-39

गाथामप्यत्र गायन्ति ये पुराणविदो जनाः ।
भीष्म यां तां च ते सम्यक्कथयिष्यामि भारत ॥३९॥
39. gāthāmapyatra gāyanti ye purāṇavido janāḥ ,
bhīṣma yāṁ tāṁ ca te samyakkathayiṣyāmi bhārata.
39. gāthām api atra gāyanti ye purāṇavidaḥ janāḥ
bhīṣma yām tām ca te samyak kathayiṣyāmi bhārata
39. O Bhishma, O Bhārata, I will fully recount to you that ancient verse which those who know the Puranas recite concerning this matter.
