महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-9, verse-4

बृहस्पतिरुवाच ।
मरुत्तमाहुर्मघवन्यक्ष्यमाणं महायज्ञेनोत्तमदक्षिणेन ।
तं संवर्तो याजयितेति मे श्रुतं तदिच्छामि न स तं याजयेत ॥४॥
4. bṛhaspatiruvāca ,
maruttamāhurmaghavanyakṣyamāṇaṁ; mahāyajñenottamadakṣiṇena ,
taṁ saṁvarto yājayiteti me śrutaṁ; tadicchāmi na sa taṁ yājayeta.
4. bṛhaspatiḥ uvāca maruttam āhuḥ maghavan
yakṣyamāṇam mahāyajñena uttamadakṣiṇena
tam saṃvartaḥ yājayitā iti me
śrutam tat icchāmi na saḥ tam yājayeta
4. bṛhaspatiḥ uvāca he maghavan,
maruttam uttamadakṣiṇena mahāyajñena yakṣyamāṇam āhuḥ.
saṃvartaḥ tam yājayitā iti me śrutam (asti).
tat (idam) icchāmi,
saḥ tam na yājayeta.
4. Bṛhaspati said: "O Maghavan (Indra), they say that Marutta is about to perform a great Vedic ritual (mahāyajña) with excellent priestly fees. I have heard that Saṃvarta will officiate for him. Therefore, I do not wish that he should officiate for him."
