दिवं देवेन्द्र पृथिवीं चैव सर्वां संवेष्टयेस्त्वं स्वबलेनैव शक्र ।
एवंविधस्येह सतस्तवासौ कथं वृत्रस्त्रिदिवं प्राग्जहार ॥२८॥

divaṁ devendra pṛthivīṁ caiva sarvāṁ; saṁveṣṭayestvaṁ svabalenaiva śakra ,
evaṁvidhasyeha satastavāsau; kathaṁ vṛtrastridivaṁ prāgjahāra.

Agni said: "O Indra, chief of the gods (devendra), O mighty one (śakra), you could indeed envelop the entire heaven and earth with your own strength. How then did Vṛtra previously seize the three worlds (tridivam) from you, who are so powerful and present here?"
