ते श्राद्धेनार्च्यमाना वै विमुच्यन्ते ह किल्बिषात् ।
सप्तकः पितृवंशस्तु पूर्वदृष्टः स्वयंभुवा ॥२८॥

28. te śrāddhenārcyamānā vai vimucyante ha kilbiṣāt ,
saptakaḥ pitṛvaṁśastu pūrvadṛṣṭaḥ svayaṁbhuvā.

28. Indeed, those ancestors, when worshipped with ancestral rites (śrāddha), are released from sin. For the seven-membered ancestral lineage (pitṛvaṃśa) was observed by Svayambhu (Brahma).
