महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-80, verse-38

पराभवार्थं दैत्यानां देवैः शौचमिदं कृतम् ।
देवत्वमपि च प्राप्ताः संसिद्धाश्च महाबलाः ॥३८॥
38. parābhavārthaṁ daityānāṁ devaiḥ śaucamidaṁ kṛtam ,
devatvamapi ca prāptāḥ saṁsiddhāśca mahābalāḥ.
38. parābhavārtham daityānām devaiḥ śaucam idam kṛtam
devatvam api ca prāptāḥ saṃsiddhāḥ ca mahābalāḥ
38. devaiḥ daityānām parābhavārtham idam śaucam kṛtam
ca devatvam api prāptāḥ ca saṃsiddhāḥ mahābalāḥ
38. This purification was established by the gods for the defeat of the daityas. And those who attain godhood also become perfected and very powerful.
