महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-91, verse-6

राजा परमधर्मात्मा लक्ष्मीवान्पाप उच्यते ।
देवाश्च गर्हां गच्छन्ति धर्मो नास्तीति चोच्यते ॥६॥
6. rājā paramadharmātmā lakṣmīvānpāpa ucyate ,
devāśca garhāṁ gacchanti dharmo nāstīti cocyate.

ca garhām gacchanti dharmaḥ na asti iti ca ucyate
6. rājā parama-dharmātmā lakṣmīvān pāpaḥ ucyate ca

6. A king, though possessing supreme adherence to natural law (dharma) and prosperity, is (still) called sinful. Consequently, the gods also incur blame, and it is proclaimed that natural law (dharma) no longer exists.
