O best among the Bharatas (bharataśreṣṭha), the superintendent (adhyakṣaḥ) of a hundred villages, being honored (satkṛtaḥ), is entitled to enjoy a large (mahāntaṃ) village (grāmam) that is densely populated (susphītajanasaṃkulam). Indeed (hi), for the king (rājñaḥ), many things (anekam) are dependent (āyattam) on such a village, O Bhārata.
