श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
जातेनैव विरिञ्चेन पुरा ब्रह्माण्डमण्डलम् ।
द्वाभ्यामधस्तादूर्ध्वात्स्वभुजाभ्यां प्रविदारितम् ॥ २१ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: 'Formerly, as soon as he was born, the cosmic orb (brahmāṇḍa) was torn apart by Brahmā (Viriñca) himself with his two arms, from below and from above.'
