योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-100, verse-31

अथवा नास्ति संवित्तिरिति निश्चयवान्यदि ।
ततस्तादृग्वेदनतो भवत्येव दृषज्जडः ॥ ३१ ॥
athavā nāsti saṃvittiriti niścayavānyadi ,
tatastādṛgvedanato bhavatyeva dṛṣajjaḍaḥ 31
31. athavā na asti saṃvittiḥ iti niścayavān yadi
| tataḥ tādṛk vedanataḥ bhavati eva dṛṣatjaḍaḥ
31. athavā yadi niścayavān (narāḥ) "saṃvittiḥ na asti" iti,
tataḥ tādṛk vedanataḥ eva (saḥ) dṛṣatjaḍaḥ bhavati
31. Or, if one is certain, 'there is no consciousness (saṃvitti),' then from such a perception, one indeed becomes as inert as a stone.
