योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-50, verse-35

शब्दस्त्वाकाशनिष्ठत्वात्कर्णाकाशगतः क्षणात् ।
जीवाकाशं विशत्यन्तरित्थमिन्द्रियसंविदः ॥ ३५ ॥
śabdastvākāśaniṣṭhatvātkarṇākāśagataḥ kṣaṇāt ,
jīvākāśaṃ viśatyantaritthamindriyasaṃvidaḥ 35
35. śabdaḥ tu ākāśaniṣṭhatvāt karṇākāśagataḥ kṣaṇāt
jīvākāśam viśati antaḥ ittham indriyasaṃvidaḥ

35. Sound (śabda), due to its inherent nature of residing in space (ākāśa), instantly travels to the space within the ear. In this manner, it enters the inner space of the individual soul (jīva), leading to sensory cognition.
