From the 'I'-sense (ahaṃ-bhāva), the ego (ahaṅkāra) arises; from the act of thinking, it is called the mind (manas). From the determination of understanding, it is the intellect (buddhi); and similarly, from the perception by the senses, it is the sense organ (indriya).
