O Rāma, that extremely dejected boy (bālaḥ asau atidīnātmā) was thus (ittham) consoled (āśvāsitaḥ) in the forest (vane) at that time (tadā) by a forest deity (vanadevatayā) whose body was invisible (adṛśyaśarīrayā).
