योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-8, verse-16

असवोऽथ धनं दारास्त्यज्यन्ते मानवैः सुखम् ।
न पुत्रो मुनिशार्दूल स्वभावो ह्येष जन्तुषु ॥ १६ ॥
asavo'tha dhanaṃ dārāstyajyante mānavaiḥ sukham ,
na putro muniśārdūla svabhāvo hyeṣa jantuṣu 16
16. asavaḥ atha dhanam dārāḥ tyajyante mānavaiḥ sukham
na putraḥ muniśārdūla svabhāvaḥ hi eṣaḥ jantuṣu
16. O tiger among sages, men can easily give up their lives, wealth, and wives. But a son? Never. This is indeed the intrinsic nature (svabhāva) of all living beings.
