योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-20, verse-5

ते ते दोषा दुरारम्भास्तत्र तं तादृशाशयम् ।
तद्रूपं प्रतिलुम्पन्ति दुष्टास्तेनैव ये मुने ॥ ५ ॥
te te doṣā durārambhāstatra taṃ tādṛśāśayam ,
tadrūpaṃ pratilumpanti duṣṭāstenaiva ye mune 5
5. te te doṣāḥ durārambhāḥ tatra tam tādr̥śāśayam
tadrūpam pratilumpanti duṣṭāḥ tena eva ye mune
5. mune,
ye te te doṣāḥ durārambhāḥ tena eva duṣṭāḥ,
(te) tatra tam tādr̥śāśayam tadrūpam pratilumpanti
5. O sage, those very faults, which have wicked beginnings and are themselves corrupt, indeed corrupt such a person (puruṣa) who possesses such a disposition and nature.
