वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-13, verse-36

न हन्तव्यो गुरुर्ज्येष्ठो ममायमिति मन्यते ।
तस्य त्विदानीं श्रुत्वा मे वाक्यमेषा कृता मतिः ॥३६॥
36. na hantavyo gururjyeṣṭho mamāyamiti manyate ,
tasya tvidānīṃ śrutvā me vākyameṣā kṛtā matiḥ.
36. na hantavyaḥ guruḥ jyeṣṭhaḥ mama ayam iti manyate
tasya tu idānīm śrutvā me vākyam eṣā kṛtā matiḥ
36. (saḥ) ayam mama jyeṣṭhaḥ guruḥ na hantavyaḥ iti manyate.
tu idānīm tasya vākyam śrutvā,
eṣā matiḥ me kṛtā.
36. "He (Vibhīṣaṇa) believes: 'This elder, respected one (guru) of mine should not be harmed.' But now, having heard his words, this decision has been made by me (Rāvaṇa)."
