वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-13, verse-25

ततो ऽहमन्यद्विस्तीर्णं गत्वा तस्य गिरेस्तटम् ।
पूर्णं वर्षशतान्यष्टौ समवाप महाव्रतम् ॥२५॥
25. tato'hamanyadvistīrṇaṃ gatvā tasya girestaṭam ,
pūrṇaṃ varṣaśatānyaṣṭau samavāpa mahāvratam.

taṭam pūrṇam varṣaśatāni aṣṭau samavāpa mahāvratam

25. Then, having gone to another vast slope of that mountain, I observed a complete great vow for eight centuries.
