वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-66, verse-38

दशरथनृपपुत्रबाणवेगै रजनिचरं निहतं खरात्मजं तम् ।
ददृशुरथ च देवताः प्रहृष्टा गिरिमिव वज्रहतं यथा विशीर्णम् ॥३८॥
38. daśarathanṛpaputrabāṇavegai rajanicaraṃ nihataṃ kharātmajaṃ tam ,
dadṛśuratha ca devatāḥ prahṛṣṭā girimiva vajrahataṃ yathā viśīrṇam.

38. And then, the delighted gods saw that son of Khara, the night-stalking demon, struck down by the swift arrows of Daśaratha’s royal son, shattered like a mountain that has been struck by a thunderbolt.
