O Brahmin (vipra), similarly, a discerning person (vicakṣaṇa) should understand that if other padas, such as the Tanaya pada (A5) and so on, are situated in quadrants (kendras) or trines (koṇas) from the Lagna pada (A1), there will be friendship and gain; conversely, if they are in trika (malefic) houses (6th, 8th, or 12th) from the Lagna pada (A1), there will be enmity and loss.
