कथ्याम्यथा भावानां खेटानां च पदं द्विज ।
तद्विशेषफलं ज्ञातुं यथोक्तं प्राङ् महर्षिभिः ॥१॥

1. kathyāmyathā bhāvānāṃ kheṭānāṃ ca padaṃ dvija .
tadviśeṣaphalaṃ jñātuṃ yathoktaṃ prāṅ maharṣibhiḥ.

1. kathyāmi athā bhāvānām kheṭānām ca padam dvija |
tat viśeṣaphalam jñātum yathā uktam prāk maharṣibhiḥ

1. O Brahmin (dvija), I shall now explain the padas of the houses (bhāvas) and planets (kheṭas). This explanation is given to understand their specific results, as it was previously stated by the great sages (maharṣis).
