मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-53, verse-1

क्रौष्टुकिरुवाच ।
स्वायम्भुवं त्वयाख्यातमेतन्मन्वन्तरञ्च यत् ।
तदहं भगवन् सम्यक् श्रोतुमिच्छामि कथ्यताम् ॥१॥
1. krauṣṭukiruvāca .
svāyambhuvaṃ tvayākhyātametanmanvantarañca yat .
tadahaṃ bhagavan samyak śrotumicchāmi kathyatām.
1. krauṣṭukiḥ uvāca svāyambhuvaṃ tvayā ākhyātam etat manvantaram
ca yat tat aham bhagavan samyak śrotum icchāmi kathyatām
1. Krauṣṭuki said: "O revered one (Bhagavan), I wish to hear thoroughly about that Svāyambhuva manvantara (epoch of Manu) which you explained. Please narrate it."
