मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-48, verse-18

चत्वार्येतान्यथोत्पाद्य तनुमन्यां प्रजापतिः ।
रजस्तमोमयीं रात्रौ जगृहे क्षुत्तृडन्वितः ॥१८॥
18. catvāryetānyathotpādya tanumanyāṃ prajāpatiḥ .
rajastamomayīṃ rātrau jagṛhe kṣuttṛḍanvitaḥ.
18. catvāri etāni atha utpādya tanum anyām prajāpatiḥ

18. After creating these four [periods], Prajāpati (Brahmā) then assumed another body, one consisting of rajas and tamas, at night, being afflicted by hunger and thirst.
