मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-133, verse-12

अहिराडिव निःश्वस्य दमः प्रायाद्वपुष्मतम् ।
सीमापालादिसामन्तान्निघ्नन्याम्यां दिश त्वरा ॥१२॥
12. ahirāḍiva niḥśvasya damaḥ prāyādvapuṣmatam .
sīmāpālādisāmantānnighnanyāmyāṃ diśa tvarā.
12. ahiraṭ iva niḥśvasya damaḥ prāyāt vapuṣmatam
sīmāpālādisāmantān nighnan yāmyām diśam tvarā
12. Sighing like a great serpent, Dama advanced towards Vapuṣmat, slaying the frontier guards and other feudatories in the southern direction with great haste.
