मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-131, verse-32

पराशरेण पितरं शक्तिं तं रक्षसाऽऽहतम् ।
श्रुत्वाऽग्नौ पातितं कृत्स्नं रक्षसामभवत्कुलम् ॥३२॥
32. parāśareṇa pitaraṃ śaktiṃ taṃ rakṣasā''hatam .
śrutvā'gnau pātitaṃ kṛtsnaṃ rakṣasāmabhavatkulam.
32. parāśareṇa pitaraṃ śaktiṃ taṃ rakṣasā āhatam śrutvā
agnau pātitam kṛtsnaṃ rakṣasām abhavat kulam
32. When Parashara heard that his father, Shakti, had been killed by a demon (rakṣasa), he caused the entire lineage of demons (rakṣasas) to be thrown into a sacrificial fire.
