मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
स तां लब्ध्वा तथा पत्नीं सुमनां सुमहामुने ।
प्रणम्य स पितुः पादौ मातुश्च क्षितिपात्मजः ॥१॥

sa tāṃ labdhvā tathā patnīṃ sumanāṃ sumahāmune .
praṇamya sa pituḥ pādau mātuśca kṣitipātmajaḥ.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: O great sage, having thus obtained Sumanā as his wife, that son of the king (kṣitipātmaja) bowed to the feet of his father and mother.
