मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-6

अपुत्रः स महीपालो मृगयामुपचक्रमे ।
पुत्रार्थं पितृयज्ञाय मांसकामो महामुने ॥६॥
6. aputraḥ sa mahīpālo mṛgayāmupacakrame .
putrārthaṃ pitṛyajñāya māṃsakāmo mahāmune.

6. O great sage, that childless king, desiring meat for an ancestral offering (yajña) for the sake of a son, set out for a hunt.
