मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-33

एको यदाहमासं तु प्राक्तदा देहजं मम ।
दुःखमासीन्ममत्वे तु भार्यायास्तदभूद्द्विधा ॥३३॥
33. eko yadāhamāsaṃ tu prāktadā dehajaṃ mama .
duḥkhamāsīnmamatve tu bhāryāyāstadabhūddvidhā.
33. ekaḥ yadā aham āsam tu prāk tadā dehajaṁ mama
duḥkham āsīt mamatve tu bhāryāyāḥ tat abhūt dvidhā
33. Indeed, when I was alone, my bodily suffering was of a single kind. But then, with the acquisition of a wife, that suffering became twofold.
