मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-27

इति दुःखशताविष्टः प्राणान्नाहं त्यजामि यत् ।
तत्कारणं निबोध त्वं ब्रुवतो मम पार्थिव ॥२७॥
27. iti duḥkhaśatāviṣṭaḥ prāṇānnāhaṃ tyajāmi yat .
tatkāraṇaṃ nibodha tvaṃ bruvato mama pārthiva.
27. iti duḥkhaśata-āviṣṭaḥ prāṇān na aham tyajāmi yat
tat kāraṇam nibodha tvam bruvataḥ mama pārthiva
27. Because, though I am thus afflicted by hundreds of sorrows, I do not abandon my life (prāṇa) – you, O King, listen to that reason as I speak.
