मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-12

घातयस्वेति मां मांसैर्मम कर्म समाचार ।
यथा कृतार्थता ते स्यान्मम चाप्युपकारि तत् ॥१२॥
12. ghātayasveti māṃ māṃsairmama karma samācāra .
yathā kṛtārthatā te syānmama cāpyupakāri tat.

yathā kṛtārthatā te syāt mama ca api upakāri tat
12. "[The deer said:] 'Sacrifice me; perform my ritual (karma) with my flesh. So that your objective may be fulfilled, and that will also be beneficial for me.'"
