मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-15

राजोवाच ।
वैराग्यकारणं प्रोक्तमनेनापुत्रता मम ।
कथ्यतां प्राणसंत्यागे यत्ते वैराग्यकारणम् ॥१५॥

vairāgyakāraṇaṃ proktamanenāputratā mama .
kathyatāṃ prāṇasaṃtyāge yatte vairāgyakāraṇam.
15. rājā uvāca vairāgyakāraṇam proktam anena aputratā
mama kathyatām prāṇasaṃtyāge yat te vairāgyakāraṇam
15. The king said: 'He has stated my childlessness as the reason for my detachment (vairāgya). Now, tell me, what is your reason for detachment (vairāgya) regarding the abandonment of life?'
