सोऽहं यतिष्ये पुत्रार्थमृते प्राणिवधं मृग ।
तपसैव प्रचण्डेन यथापूर्वं महीपतिः ॥३९॥

O deer, I will strive for a son only through severe asceticism (tapas), without harming any living being, just as a king did formerly.
