मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-117, verse-35

न कृतार्थो भवाम्यस्य नातिदुःखाय सम्भवः ।
इह दुःखाय मत्सूतिःपरत्र च विरोधिनी ॥३५॥
35. na kṛtārtho bhavāmyasya nātiduḥkhāya sambhavaḥ .
iha duḥkhāya matsūtiḥparatra ca virodhinī.
35. na kṛtārthaḥ bhavāmi asya na atiduḥkhāya sambhavaḥ
iha duḥkhāya matsūtiḥ paratra ca virodhinī
35. I am not fulfilled by this (child), nor is his existence meant for excessive suffering. Here, my offspring causes suffering, and in the afterlife, it is obstructive.
