महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-53, verse-12

हलायुधस्तत्र चापि दत्त्वा दानं महाबलः ।
आप्लुतः सलिले शीते तस्माच्चापि जगाम ह ।
आश्रमं परमप्रीतो मित्रस्य वरुणस्य च ॥१२॥
12. halāyudhastatra cāpi dattvā dānaṁ mahābalaḥ ,
āplutaḥ salile śīte tasmāccāpi jagāma ha ,
āśramaṁ paramaprīto mitrasya varuṇasya ca.

dānam mahābalaḥ āplutaḥ salile śīte
tasmāt ca api jagāma ha āśramam

12. And there, the immensely powerful Halāyudha (Balarama), having offered gifts (dāna), bathed in the cold water. From that place, greatly pleased, he then went to the hermitage (āśramam) of Mitra and Varuṇa.
